An early Enzo Mari title, L'Altalena See Saw features the same animals as his famous "18 Animali" puzzle for Danese. This versatile work can be a book, a game, or an entertaining strip to hang up. The concertina-fold pages are filled with black and brown stylized animals that chase one another, overlap, and leap with their “heavy bodies” onto the ends of the simplest of swings, trying to keep their balance. A brightly colored red and green cover envelops cumbersome elephants, sinuous snakes, and statuesque kangaroos. The book has no words and conceptually speaks to children about quantity, shapes, weight, and balance.
